The Time is Now
Heart for the Harvest is a two-year initiative to propel Overflow Church into the future. We will double our worship space, upgrade our facilities, and consolidate our parking to be ready for the thousands of people God is sending our way.
God has blessed us with growth beyond what we could have ever imagined. We’ve seen a tremendous harvest each year, and in the past seven years our growth has multiplied exponentially. What started over 100 year ago as a congregation of 20 has grown to include thousands of individuals, families, and children who gather weekly. As people of all ages are drawn to His message of hope and healing, our spaces and parking lots are filled to capacity. It’s clear that God is using us to connect with our community - and it’s a privilege that comes with huge opportunities.

Our Goal
We believe God is calling us continue to sow into the future. We have purchased the 30-acres of land surrounding our current church. We are set to build a $10 million campus over the next four years. This will allow us to build a 1000-seat worship center, new lobby & welcome area, renovate & repurpose our existing sanctuary, build offices, and relocate our parking lot. More importantly, our expanded facilities will allow us to serve more people. We will be ready for the harvest as Johnston County and surrounding areas continue to grow!
Over the next two years, we want to accomplish the first phase of our project, which includes our new worship center, the consolidation of our parking lot, and an exterior upgrade. Phase One is projected to cost $5.5 million. Phase Two will include renovations of our existing Sanctuary to be used as our new OC Youth space and adding classrooms for our Overflow Kids.
Our Commitment
We are starting strong: we own our land debt-free, we have over half a million dollars in reserve for construction, and have developed a master plan. But there is no sowing without sacrifice. As a congregation, we need to commit to giving $5.55 million over the next two years. This will fund our regular operations through September 30, 2025, and allow us to invest approximately $2.5 million into Phase One. The balance of our Phase One costs will be financed.
It will take ALL of us to reach this goal. Our desire is that every family at Overflow will commit to give sacrificially for two years. Together we are answering the call of Jesus in Matthew 9 to work in the fields He has already prepared for harvest.
Resources
Heart for the Harvest is a God-sized vision. This initiative is not about simply raising money, growing attendance numbers, or adding square footage. Heart for the Harvest’s focus is to help people grow spiritually and go through a journey together as a church family. We have resources to use as a tool for you to dive deeper into the sermon topics and scriptures. Printed copies are available at church.

Some of our church family has prayerfully written journal entries to meditate and pray over each day. There’s also weekly “Family Time” activities provided to engage the entire family.
